- Lack of Time, Knowledge Hoarding
AI is not the enemy of curiosity. But it can become one if you use it mainly to end thinking faster.
Used well, AI can help create safer rehearsal, faster synthesis, better question generation, and lower friction around exploration. Used badly, it can flatten your perspective into polished generic answers.
Use it when
- you need a thinking partner
- you are stuck on framing
- you want to lower friction, not eliminate reflection

How it works
- As a clarifier: "Explain this simply." "Compare these two ideas." "Show me what I am not understanding."
- As a challenger: "What assumptions am I making?" "What would a skeptic say?" "Where is this too vague?"
- As a question generator: "What are ten better questions I could ask about this?" "What would a beginner ask?" "What question am I avoiding?"
- As a synthesizer: "Here are my notes. What themes do you see?" "What patterns repeat?" "What deserves deeper exploration?"
- The rule: do not let AI do the final act of thinking for you. A useful discipline: ask AI for a response, find two things wrong, weak, or generic in it, rewrite the core idea in your own words.
When you want to think better, not just faster.
